Public methodology
SurgFellow distinguishes programme existence from current application availability. Every published record must link to an official institutional, recruitment or professional source.
We prioritize official programme, hospital, university, department, national recruitment and surgical-society pages. A programme-director-submitted society-registry listing can document a listing, but does not independently prove accreditation, current details or an active intake.
An accessible webpage does not mean applications are open. “Open” requires an official active-cycle statement. Accreditation or register inclusion confirms programme identity, not a live vacancy.
Clinical fellowship does not automatically mean hands-on. Participation is classified as supervised clinical, mixed, observational, research-only or not publicly clarified.
Missing information is never converted into assumed eligibility. Acceptance, medical registration and immigration remain separate decisions.
Completeness measures disclosed public fields—not programme quality. Salary, fee, visa, registration and deadline gaps remain labelled as unknown.
Every release checks unique IDs and slugs, required fields, HTTPS source URLs, controlled taxonomy, scope totals, deadline formats, duplicate programme pairs, region coverage and minimum specialty coverage.
A review date records when the source was last assessed. It does not guarantee that an institution has not changed the page afterward.
Programme teams and users can submit official evidence. Corrections are reviewed against the source before publication.
